Good read. Spoilers below.
Cadillac is “the most like a sports car of the three”. Pobst liked the M3 the least - “snappy at the limit”. AMG takes the overall win, with the M3 in dead last.

Surprised AMG won. It’s a good car, but there’s now way it’s the best of the three.
As much as I’d love to choose the American underdog, it’s gotta be M3/M4 for me.
My order:
1st: M3
2nd: ATS-V
3rd: C63

Have you driven them?

So even though the ATS out-performed the M3, they still say the M3 is the better performer. Sounds legit...

The king is dead. Long live the king.

Ha, Car and Driver did the exact same cars and ranked them M3, C63s, ATS-V.

No, the ATS came in second. It lost to the M3 in basically just the sound and engine feel category.

The one that I would prefer to have won, now if I could only afford one...

Happy to see the ATS-V beat the Germans at the numbers game at least.

The ATS has been getting top marks on handling and “fun to drive” pretty consistently.

Well Car and Driver sucks. Your move Wobbles.

Johnny Lieberman...nah I’m just kidding!

Really? Because of a lower redline?

I feel like there’s a problem when you’re touting yourself as building “The Ultimate Driving Machine” and cars from two makes known for comfort over performance beat you..

Watched the motor week comparison between the M4, ATS-V, and RC-F and they put them in that order

wow... new way to lose faith in humanity:
Step 1: open any MT article online
Step 2: read the comments
This seems to be true of C&D and autoblog as well though so oh well

No, haven't driven any, but for some reason I like the M3 best.

Step 1: Never read the comments.

The M4 won another comparison I read against the ATS-V, but the Cadillac had better points on handling and fun to drive. Lost because of interior quality, rear seat room, trunk space...

Yup.

So much want in this picture.

The bit I watched they were just basing it on track performance I think
![]() 08/04/2015 at 14:34 |

Says something that Pobst liked the M3 the least at the track. Clearly he’s testing the limits of the cars more than the Motorweek crew.

The Cadillac? Because braking/handling/acceleration.
![]() 08/04/2015 at 15:14 |

Yeah, all that was better in the Cadillac.
I guess they had to find something to nitpick.

I understand how they ranked them and it makes sense but it seems kinda wrong to be comparing the S version C63 to the other two. I guess they used whatever Mercedes gave them but still...
I had to buy one with my own money, it’d be an ATS-V. There are so many M BMW’s and AMG Mercs here in Northern Columbus already and I couldn’t stay away from Mid-Ohio with it only being an hour north of here either.
![]() 08/04/2015 at 22:54 |

Having driven two of the three myself there’s no way the M3/4 is better than the C63.

I respect your opinion, especially as someone who has driven the cars. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but as someone who hasn’t driven any of them, all I can do I just say which one I “like” best. What I said above was just my opinion from the sidelines.

I understand and respect your opinion. However the way you wrote made it seem like you were stating it as infallible fact.

Reading back now, I guess I did word my response pretty badly...
